| Field notes | Tree, flowers yellow. Maasai name: engaipirusalan The very bitter decoction of 3 pieces 2o cm long and 2 fingers thicks rootsis heated in 1 1/2 dcilitre water, mixed with a drop of milk to change the colour and drunk for problems with the stomach when it pains and makes noise called "enaporrsesen" (enaporr ~ touch slithtly, osesen ~ body. The medicine release the pain and can be drunk everytime one suffers from the pain, but doesn't cure the disease. The disease is caused by eaten fat and only some people suffer from it. Pain caused by "Enaporrsesen" is alwayst treated by drinking very bitter drinks, which can be made of "osokonoi", "pili-pili", or "ormulayo" (~ soot). No medicine can cure "enaporrsesen". |
