| Field notes | Herb, flowers purple. Maasai name: orkipire lekima (orkipire ~ stick to make soup, enkima ~ fire) and oleturot (iturot ~ wells) A decoction of the plant is used to wash the body for a disease called "esoinchoi", where people become weak, palms of their hands are white, a sign of insufficient blood. |
