| Field notes | (Mixed collection?) Herb, flowers green. Maasai name: enekidong'o (enkikong'oi ~ tail). Eaten by cattle. Is used to provoke vomiting by malaria, "mouth disease", lost appetite and for "oloirobi" with pain when coughing and lacking appetite. Two pieces of root 20 cm long and as thick as 2 fingers is pounded in 5 litre water and stirred until it foams, drunk until one feels full and want to vomit. It is bitter. Further medicine might be drunk after vomit once to continue vomiting until vomiting bile. |
