Field notes "Tree. Maasai name: orkokola Grained bark of root is used for "oloing'oni" and "entasimi", is often referred to as green, "enyorie" in accordance to the powders colour. It can be prepared by everyone, but only used in accordance to advices given by "oloiboni". William ole Seki: Smoke of burning steam is breathed in through the nose to cure headache. ole Nakuroi, Ndeyan: The pealed root is used for "entasimi" and "oloing'oni". It can't kill, even though one taste it. Can be mixed with other "oloin'oni" in accordance to "enkidong'". Use of the "sweet entasimi" follow the advises of "enkidong'". Meshuko ole Mapi, oloiboni, mkidong'i-clan, living in Buti close to Makuyuni Root is used for "entasimi" to treat people with "oloirobi". Water is mixed with a little milk and the "entasimi" and drunk of a buffalo horn early in the morning while the cattle is still in the boma. The "entasimi" can be put in a hole in a stick called "armanet", which might be made of "ormoswa" and is used to surround the boma in the morning before cattle leave and in the evening when entered in the boma to protect against lose of cattle. "Entasimi nyorrie" made of "orkokola" together with "nyorrie" (growing close to Lake Eyasi) mixed with honey beer is the best to secure a good agreement on a quarrel. Shall be used in secret, as one part of the conflict wish to defend his own interests strongly and not be calmed down by this. Rhizome of "olekimojik" can also be used together with "ormogongora", but is not as good as the former. Olootaosirwa ole Mako, oloiboni living in Piaya: Decoction of roots is drunk for "gonorrhea". The root is used for "oloig'oni". It has to be dug up at sunset. Everybody can do it. The fresh root together with an anthill is placed on a spear and used to spear the footprints of the person one wants to harm. "orkokola" can also be used for protection of boma or persons on difficult journey, but not for protection against disease. It is placed in a specific stick, called "ormanet" used to surround persons or things, which it shall protect.
