Maasai name: emperr elong'o (small), orperr olong'o (big) (orperr ~to divide in two parts, olong'o ~ shield) The red decoction of the wood with innerlayer of bark is mixed with soup. It is used in meatcamps. Posts used for construction of the hut. Eaten by goats. William ole Seki: Used for shield handle.
