Locality Ngorongoro Conservation Area, 2 km south of Endulen village, along Emborrkwai river in riverine forest. Information given by Mepalari Mushumbay, from Arusha Mwarusha-tribe, 40 years, has lived in Endulen 20 years, is owner of many beehives.

Field notes Maasai name: osilalei Wood used for construction of beehives. Bark extracted in water for 1/2-1 hour, until it gets red and drunk to stop diarrhoea. Sap chewed as chewing gum. Lepilal ole Nakuroi: A handful of innerbark is extracted in 1/2 litre of water in 15 minutes until it get red and a bite bitter. It suits for 1 person. Is of same quality as "ormuto" collection no LE 507. Oloirrong'o ole Mayanga, Ilchololik-agegroup, Aldarpoi: Used for women, who can't urinate, not so common a problem as among men. Eight pieces of root 20 cm long and as thick as a finger is boiled together with c. 2 decilitre of elefant dung in 1 litre of water until water is evapurated and there remain a 1/2 cup, which is very red and without bitter taste. The medicine is drunk at the same time, and treatment is not repeated, but after soup of goat or sheep shall be given to support the medicine. The soup is prepared with or mixed with a bundle of a size as a hand of 20 cm long thin roots of "orng'eriandus lo ondoye", which is prepared in 3-4 liiter until it gets very red, but not bitter.
