| Field notes | Tree. Maasai name olokunonoi (irkunono ~ people from an outcast working as ironsmiths) A small piece of the bark is worn in a necklett, used as "entasimi" to protect one. It is spitted in direction of the person, who wants to harm one, particularly used by herd boys as protection against beats by warriors. It can only protect adults after a person form the Irkiporroon-clan has spitted on it to strenghtern it. |
