Field notes Tree. Maasai name: engaimorunyai The thorns are used against bad "entasimi". Misfortunes is a sign on used of harmfull "entasimi" on one. Only used in accordance to advices by "oloiboni". The thorns are boiled together with thorns of "olkilorit" and decoction is used to wash body. Informant has once used it after he has been caught by the polic under illegal transport of cattle across the border for sale in Kenya. (To wash the bad luck??). Woodstick used to prolong earloes. Meshuko ole Mapi, oloiboni, mkidong'i-clan, living in Buti close to Makuyuni Decoction of branches with leaves are used to wash red irritated eyes, which pain. Decoction of branches mixed with "entasimi" made of grained charcoal of "olkiloriti" is used to make a Turkish bath, by placing the person above the hot pot and covering it with a blanket to treat persons, who have been cursed
