| Field notes | Tree, only leaves on young branches. Maasai name: aldapoi (small), oldapoi (big). Fruit up c. 25 cm long lanceolate and used for fermentation of honey to produce the local brew, called "enaisho". 1 root diveded in two parts is used together with 4-5 roots of "osuguroi" in 20 litre of water and 3-4 kg honey. Oloirago ole Mayanga: Fruits are used for fermentation of honeybeer together with roots of "osuguroi" to give the beer a good taste and smell. A half fruit c. 40 cm long and 12-15 cm thick is used together with 4 roots of "osuguroi" for 20 litre of water and 5 litre honey. |
