| Field notes | Dwarf shrub, flowers yellow. Maasai name: emborokwai ekop (emborokwai ~ helper, enkop ~ ground). 7 roots 10 cm long and 3-4 mm thick are boiled 1/2 hour in 3 litre water and mixed with 2 litre of milk to make it go further, when milk is scarce. It is very red and makes the mixture heavy. It is called "olomelok" and given to children to satify their stomach. 4-5 roots are boiled in a cup of water and mixed with a cup of milk to be given to goatkid as substitute for milk. The portion is for two kids. It is of same quality as collection number LE 479. It is used to treat "anang'ami" pain close to diaphragma without diarrhea or vomiting and not connected to excersize or eating. It is treated by making small wounds in the skin, which scar is coloured batteriacid and sap of "endulelei" (Solanum incanum). Oloirago ole Mayanga, Ilchololik-agegroup, living in Aldarpoi: The "olomelok" is also given to people with malaria as it decrease the temperature and pain by breathing and is good for the digestionsystem and stimulate appetite.
