| Field notes | Shrub, flowers green. Maasai name: orng'oswa, fruit: esarak (esarak is a playingbord with 34 holes to play a traditional game with balls called "engeshe" or "endodoi". Branches used for fence around the boma. Fruits are eaten by children and goats. Two pieces of bark of a size as an open hand is pounded and stirred for a few seconds and drunk to provoke vomiting to reduce the amount of bile, particularly for persons with malaria. It can cause a bit diarrhoea. It is not of same quality as "oremit", but of same quality as "entukushi", "olerai", "olomitu" and "oltimigomi". Wood used for "orkipere" a stick with one short stick across used to stir soup. Used for the cross stick as it last long. |
