| Field notes | Succulent. Maasai name: osurkututi Steem or roots are used to treat calves with east coast fever, if pharmaceutical medicine, as antibiotics aren't available. The antibiotics increase the number of cattle, who survive east coast fever. Decoction of 10 roots 20 cm long and 1-2 thick is given morning and evening, the calves are observated for two days, if improvemnt hasn't taken place the treatment is repeated, if it still doesn't help then another treatment is tried. |
