| Field notes | Succulent, grow in site protected from grassing. Maasai name: osurkututi 7-8 roots 15 cm long and 2 cm wide are boiled in 10 litre of water and mixed with soup to treat transmitted gonorrhea. The portion suits for 8 persons. It is not used as the only species to mix with soup and is not normally used at meatcamps. It is highly estimated for treatment of gonorrhea (even though not as high as seeds of "olodwai") and people travel to search for it. Crushed stem is given to calves with coughing, treatment repeated during several days. |
