| Field notes | Herb, flowers white, grow in site protected from grassing Maasai name: olekiushin (kiushin ~ termitary) 4-5 roots 20 cm long and as thick as 2 fingers are boiled in water, mixed with a drop of milk to change its colour and drunk for pain in the throat, drunk morning and evening until one feels well. The roots can be used twice. Oloirango ole Mayanga, Ilchololik-age group, living in Aldarpoi: Used for pain in throat and "oloirobi". Roots with bark is chewed and sap is swallowed or 4-5 roots 12-15 cm long and as thick as a finger is boiled in c. 45 minutes, filtered and drunk with a drop of milk by one person. The decoction is brown. The last preparation is the best. |
