| Field notes | Tree, flowers white. Maasai name: eiti (small), oiti (big). Used for fence around the boma. Used as brush to clean milk-calabash. Decoction of dry 6 pieces of bark as big as an open hand from old tree is boiled for and hour and really gets red. The portion suits for 10 persons. The old bark is called "oli-a-lao" (~ for the ants) and helps one to get strong. Bark on young trees are not so strong and doesn't get the same colour. |
