| Field notes | Herb, flowers bright purple. Maasai name: enekidong'o (ilkidong'o ~ tails). Used to "tie" the cattle, when they are moved from the lowland "orpurkel" to the highland "osupuko", so they won't die, when they eat "enekidong'o osupuko". Mud close to a flowing river is mixed with honey and a crushed leave of "enekidong'o". One from "lukumai" klan or a "oloiboni" who know how to "tie" smear it on the tail of some of the cows. |
