| Field notes | Shrub, flowers orange. Maasai name: eseki (small), oseki (big), engululu (fruit) Wood used for uprights in huts. Hooks used to for hanging beehives in trees. Glowing end of stick is used to clean and dry the milk-calabash. Fruits are eaten. Oloirago ole Mayanga: used for uprights for the wall of huts, but is not as good as "alawou" and "ositeti" as it doesn't resist insects and only last 2-3 years. |
