| Field notes | Herb, flowers yellow with dense red marks. Maasai name: asakutaa (akutaa ~ to blow). The herd boys spit a small bite of the onion in direction of warriors, when they show up to prevent to be beaten. They may carry a dry onion in a string around the neck as reserve. |
