| Field notes | Shrub Maasai name: engosikiranchoi 4-6 roots 20 cm long and as thick as 2 fingers are boiled in a half litre of water for half an hour and mixed with a drop of milk to change the colour and drunk by women immediately they have miscarried. It dries the stomach. Treatment continue until improvement has taken place, by lack of improvement one can change to medicine made of "oluai" or "orng'wong'wenyi". Medicine of this species is considered as the best for women, who have miscarried, while "oluai" is preferred for women, who have delivered. Further more used in accordance to advice from "oloiboni" (a.o. medicinal specialist). |
