| Field notes | Shrub. Maasai name: esonchoi (~ Sonjo woman) Used for the disease "esonchoi". Decoction of branches used for turkish bath by placing it under the patient and cover him with a blancket, afterwards used for bath of the patient. Then the whole body is smeared first with "orkarria" (red ocra) and then with fat of cow or sheep and four spoonfull of stif maize porridge are eaten. The whole treatment has to take place without talking with others. |
