Field notes Shrub. Maasai name: esonchoi (~ Sonjo woman) Used for the disease called "esonchoi". Plant without root is boiled and the damp is used for at turkish bath by placing the pot under the patient and cover him with a blancket, after sweating the patient bathe with the decoction, eat 4 spoonfull of stiff maizeporridge, smear the whole body with "orkirria" (red soil), continue to eat the stiff maizeporridge and finish the treatment with smearing the whole body with fat, all has to take place while patient remain silent.
