| Field notes | Shrub, bark scabrous. Maasai name: entíarkata Very good for thornfence around boma as it last long. Roots is used for both kind of "gonorrheae", both to cure and as protection. 5-6 pieces of root 20 cm long and as thick as a finger are boiled 3-4 hours together with head and hooves of sheep or goat in c. 10 liter of water (water is added during boiling to replace evapurated water) and suits for c. 5 persons dependend on appetite. |
