| Field notes | This specimen has several characteristics of Ph. amaricana L. (Stamens ca 10 in one whorl, racemes open with pedicels almost at right angles from the rachis, etc.). Still, given the considerable variation seen in Ph. rivinoides Kunth & Bouché and the plasticity of floral morphology in species of Phytolacca, this specimen might still be accomodated within the range of variation of Ph. rivinoides Kunth & Bouché.
