| Field notes | Along forest edge. Caulescent plant to 2.5 m tall, aerial shoots growing in clumps of up to 10. No specialized rhizom branches seen. Small shoots with 1-2 petiolate, basal leaves, larger ones with bladeless sheaths only; first aerial internode cane-like, 0.5-1.5 m long in flowering shoots, plants above that rather richly branched |
