Rhizome stout. Leaves rather dark mid-green at upper surface, very pale below with dark veins. Fruits bright red. petiole breaks off easily at infructescence and was missing in many individuals in the population. Infructescence in spirit (SAN & AAU). Specimens deposited at: SAN, KEP, UMS, AAU
