| Field notes | Shrub 5-6 m tall. Overbent growth. Fruits fragrant, but the whole plant with rather unpleasant smell. Used as magical plant against sickness, like diarrhoea, and "bad air". Cigarette smoke can be fanned with a bundle of leaves to drive off the unwanted. Local name "Raposa panga" - "Hoja de mal viento". Ethnobot. inf. by Victor Rivadeneira. |
