| Field notes | Tree 25.4 m X 60.6 cm. KTH tree no. 327 Bark with short, light brown furrows. Local name "Azugar muyo" ("Pepa de azugar"). The white pulp in mature pods said to be sweet, edible. Sap from stem said to deliver very fine incense for the Mass in churches - even finer than "Copal muyo". Ethnobotanical information by Victor Rivadeneira. |
