Field notes Tree, c. 30 m high. DBH 1.0 m. Trunk with small feet c. 1 m high. Bark rather smooth with horizontal lines, brownish grey. Slash 9 mm, outer 7 mm pale brownish pink, inner 2 mm pale yellow. Wood creamy white, smells like apples. Leaflets leathery, upper side somewhat glossy, dark green, lower side glossy, medium green. Peduncle brownish with brown hairs, side-axis very pale green with brown hairs. Bracts pale green. Pedicel and bracteoles white with minute white hairs and a few longer brown hairs. Adaxial and abaxial (very small) sepals with some brown hairs. Petal white. Base of filamentous tube purple-red. Filaments white, anthers dark purple brown. Ovary white to very light green, with pale greyish brown hairs. Style white, often pink towards the apex, stigma pale yellow. Flowers sweet fragrant, somewhat daffodil like.
