| Field notes | Solitary palm, stem 6 m tall, 19 cm in diameter, internodes very short, stem at first covered with leafbases, lateron glabrous; about 30-40 contemporaneous leaves; petiole inclusive of sheath in young leaves about 1 m long, relatively late elongating to about 2 m in completely expanded leaves; lamina about 1 m in diameter with 54 stiff segments. Many ( 12) contemporaneous inflorescences; peduncle 6 dm long with 2 bracts, rachis 15 dm with 10 sidebranches the lowermost to 8 dm long.
