| Field notes | Clustered palm, stems up to about 6 m tal, 5 cm in diameter, internodes 4-8 cm lang densely armed with long, black, flattened spines. 12 contemporaneous leaves, sheath 3.5 dm, petiole 6 dm, rachis 17 dm lang with 36 pairs of pinnae at regular intervals. Only old, dry inflorescences present and a young one with still closed bracts. |
