Field notes Solitary palm, stem 20 m tall, 21 cm in diameter, prominently ringed, internodes about 1 dm long; 15 contemporaneous leaves; sheath 12 dm long, the basal 3 dm longitudinally split; prtiole 7 dm long; rachis 12 dm long, segments drooping in the upper part, lamina about 3 m in diameter. Inflorescences 7, suberect; peduncle 12 dm long with 8 bracts, rachis 18 dm long with 18 alternating sidebranches. Flowers with white petals and yellow anthers. N.V. palma redonda
