| Field notes | Mostly open, disturbed, fire-prone, grassy area in primary evergreen hardwood + pine forest; granite bedrock. Shrub 2.5 m. tall, basal diameter 3 cm; bark thin, smooth, grayish-brownish; inflorescences recurved, main axis green; pedicels & calyx dark maroonish on green; standard outside grey-maroonish, inside dark violet, wings dark red, keel dull dark violet; anthers & stigma cream, filaments & style dull violet-red; pods green and turning dull violet; leafltes dull dark green above, light green below |
