| Field notes | Leafy stems reddish in lower 1/4, more pale yellowish-greenish in the upper 3/4, 1.5-2 m tall; leaves 10-14 in the upper 1/2 of stem, none rediced in (?) blades green above, light greenish underneath. Inflorescence slightly emergent from the ground; bracts tan-whitish with red margins; calyx dark red, corolla crest of anther, filament white, medially with a yellow streak with red margins. |
