| Field notes | Arborescent, 8 m tall (one plant 13 m tall), with definite trunk. Trunk spineless (sample included), 20 cm wide. Ribs 6 to occasionally 8. The ribs sometimes only 6 mm wide when 2 cm high (peak of the dry season). Ribs with several cm long spines collected from a separate juvenile plant (1.5 m tall). Many fruting plants. Fruits green, the spines caducous. |
