| Field notes | "Shrubby plants (cut probably due to collection of wool from the cephalium), 1-6 m tall. Stems bluish grey. Ribs on flowering stems 6-8 of which the cephalium makes up 2-3. Lateral cephalia 5-80 cm long. Floral tube purplish brown. Inner petaloids white. Fruits 4 cm wide, subglobose, purplish brown. Flesh of fruit purple. Liquid material available at AAU." |
