| Field notes | Bush. Leaves reddish toward the tips. New spines white with reddish tips. Flower 6-7 cm long, about 2.5 cm wide, yellow, reddish when withering. Pseudocarp 3.5 to 4.5 cm long. Outer tepals yellow with green midrib and reddish tips, gradually scabrous, reddish brown. Inner tepals yellow, sometimes tinged orange, but always of one colour. Style white, eventually reddish apically Stigma-lobes 5-6, about 5 mm long, green. Filament yellowish. Anther yellow. Nectar-chamber yellowish. |
