| Field notes | Bush, 1.0-1.5 m high, broad. Leaves green with brownish tips. New spines white. Flower orange, tinged reddish when whitering. Pericarp covered with brownish areoles and a few spines, without leaves. Outer tepals orange, with green midrib and dark tips. Inner tepals orange. Style white, a little reddish apically, very thick at basis. Stigma-lobes about 6, about 5 mm long, green. Filament a little reddish, yellow apically. Anther yellow. |
