| Field notes | Low, creeping and ascending or erect, 20-50 cm high. Stems to 50 cm long and more, 3-5 cm thick. Ribs 18-21. Areoles sometimes separated by small groves. New spines yellowish to yellowish brown. Old spines about the same colour as new ones. Flowering areoler sometimes with longer, more bristle-like spines. Flower pink (flowering material more or less withered) Recep- tacle-tube a little flatened. Fruit globose, mostly longer than wide, greenish. Flesh of fruit white. |
