| Field notes | Tree, 3-6 m high. Stems bluish green toward apex. Ribs mostly 7-9. Cephalium comprise 2-3 ribs on upper stems, 30-50 (-150) cm long. Flower dark violet. Outer tepals dark violet. Inner tepals whitish inside, darker outside. Style pale. Filament white. Anther flesh-coloured. Nectar-chamber, pale. Ovule chamber white. Fruit subglobose, violet.
