| Field notes | Low, 20-30 (-40) cm high, forming broad groups to 1 m and more in diameter. Stems 10-15 (-25) cm long, 2-3 cm thick. Areoles at top of oblong protuberance, white. Leaves greenish with reddish tips. Spines spreading in all directions. Sheets of spines white, at first yellowish green to reddish at basis. Sterile material. |
