| Field notes | Bushy, low, in open areas more or less creeping on the ground, in scrub mostly erect. Joints 10-15 (-25) cm long, 6-9 (-15) cm wide, about 1 cm thick (6-15) cm thick on woody joints toward base of plant). Joints mostly narrow at basis. Spines not widely spreading, yellow. Fruit 3.5-4.0 cm long, 3.0-3.5 cm in diameter, slender at basis, umbilicus depressed. |
