| Field notes | Plant erect, 1 m high. Ribs about 10-11. New spines brownish with pale or yellowish basis. Flower 6-8 cm long, red, sometimes with a touch of orange. Limb wider than high, oblique. Receptakel-tube nearly terete, covered with green bracts, blackish hairy in their axils. Pericarp about 1 cm long. |
