| Field notes | Bush or tree, 2-5 m high. Joints mostly 30-40 cm long, light greyish green. Fruit oblong-ovoid, 11-13 cm long, covered with brown areoles and brownish spines. Flesh of fruit white. Fruits 1-5 (-10) on uppermost third of of highest joints. Even small plants fertile. |
