| Field notes | Bush, erect, much branched, to 1.5 m high. Joints oval to circular, 20-35 cm long, 14-22 cm wide, dark green. Leaves green with brownish tips. Glochids numerous on new joints, brownish. Outer tetals orange brown. Inner tetals yellowish toward the edge. Style white. Stigma-lobes about 8, greenish. Filament reddish. Anther yellowish white. Nectarferious tissue brownish. Fruit ovoid, red. |
