| Field notes | Plant more or less creeping. Joints to 1 m long, 6-9 cm thick. Ribs 14-17. Areoles ovale, 5 mm long, 3 mm wide, grey. Spines grey, with grey brown tips. Radial spines up to 20, to 1 cm long. Central spines 1-4, 2-4 cm long. Flower 6-8 cm long, orange red, covered with black hairs. Ovule-chamber kidney shaped. Stigmas 7-9. |
