| Field notes | Plant 0.5-1.5 m tall, very branched. Joints up to 15 cm long and 7 cm wide. Spines 2-4, up to 5 cm long. Flowers small, orange red, numerous. The species grows at this locality on steep slopes, where the vegetation ir more open. |
