Field notes Plant 1,5 m tall. Joints vigorous up to 40 cm long. Spines 3-4, 1-3 cm long, one 4 cm, white, at the tip darker. Flowers about 9 cm long, yellow. Style very vigorous, pale pink. The ceased flower with a orange yellow gleam. An introduced species which grows near the road.
