| Field notes | Plant up to 1.5 tall, diameter 4-7 cm (strong plants), 7-9 ribbes. Spines about 15, edgespines 1 cm long, vigorous plants can have a few central spines one of which points a little downwards, 4 cm long. The spines are white with brown tips, new ones are brown, lighter at the basis. Flowers have orange red to red petals and pink anthers. Fruit 1-2 cm in diameter. |
