| Field notes | Clustering roatn climbing to 4 m only. Stem without sheaths 20 mm didam., with sheaths 35 mm. Sheaths densely armed with erect brittle brown spines. Flagellum to 4 m. Ocrea highly developed, to 1 m long, distally papery, basally armed with small spines. Leaf ecirrate, to 1.6 m; petiole 20 cm. 37 leaflets on each side of the rachis, regularly arranged, bright green. Inflorescence to 4 m; peduncle 1.75 m; 4 partial inflorescences to 60 cm long, with 6 rachillae on each side: female with triads of flowers |
