Field notes Clustering palm. Stem to 4m tall, somewhat stilt-rooted at the base, ca. 4cm diam., internodes ca. 3cm, pale brown. Crownshaft 50cm, moderately well developed. Leaves 8 in the crown; sheath pale creamy yellow, splotched with red, with scattered brown scales. Leaf with petiole 8cm and rachis 82-90cm; leaflets 9 on each side, in one plane, somewhat arcuate, 1-4 folds wide, ramenta present. Inflorescence interfoliar, spreading, ca. 50x50cm; peduncle 40cm; 20 first order branches, the basal 4 branching once more; all axes rusty hairy. Staminate flower buds orange, not quite open.
